Your spotlight on local services

Healthwatch Roadshows are a Success!

Over the last few weeks Healthwatch East Riding have held 4 roadshows in local areas, all of these have been very successful and enabled us to meet local people and find out about your views about health and social services.

On Wednesday 10th May, Healthwatch East Riding started the roadshow event at Wednesday Market, Beverley.

Our second roadshow was held at Flemingate Shopping Centre, Beverley. The other two roadshows were at King Street, Bridlington and Boothferry Precinct Goole.

The events were supported by our staff team and volunteers. It was also fantastic to meet some of our HWERY members at the events, who had heard about them in our newsletter and on local media.

Each event was a big success and our team engaged with lots of local people in each area. A significant number of people signed up to be a member of our mailing list.  Over 150 people found out more about HWERY by taking our leaflets and our free HWERY pens were very popular with nearly 300 given away!
We asked people about the issues which affect them in health and social care, and specifically about Working Age men and any issues they faced with Health and Social care services.  Already we have had 200 responses to our questionnaire, with other questionnaires taken to be returned. We also want to hear about good experiences that people have had and the positive things that you want to tell us about the health and social care services you use.

It is vital that HWERY are able to get this insight in to the concerns with health and social care services that actually affect people in different localities within the East Riding. We can use this information to identify trends and provide analysis which will drive future projects.

We will be holding more roadshows across the East Riding and details of these will be in our newsletter, on our website and in the local Press. Please come along to have your say on local health and social care services, and find out more about the work we do and how you can get involved. We would love to see you there.
