Social Prescribing in the East Riding
A new service to help support local people with their health and wellbeing needs has been launched in the East Riding. The Community Link service, run by East Riding Voluntary Action Service (ERVAS), helps people access the right services at the right time.
Issues which affect people’s lives such as bereavement, debt, social isolation are sometimes best countered by non-medical interventions.
There are many community and voluntary organisations offering activities around exercise, craft activities, focus groups and music. Also many smaller organisations help people through mental health challenges.
Community Link will signpost people to services within the community which may be of benefit to them. Often these groups are free to attend or levy a small charge.
Community Link operates in East Riding CCG GP practices only.
For more information call Community Link on 0303 040 1019 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Do you know of a group or organisation in your community who offer support and help to vulnerable people? If you do tell us about them and the great work they do.
